Charting
From GTwM
This page is part of the AgileBase documentation
A video demo of some charting features is available here:
http://blog.agilebase.co.uk/2010/03/08/v2-6-charting-video-demo/
For any view/report in AgileBase, any number of charts can be added based on the data in the view.
To add a new chart, click the select the view you're interested in and click the 'summary' tab at the bottom of the screen.
Select one or more fields to group the data by, and add one or more functions. For date fields, you will be able to group by year, quarter, month and day. Functions allow you to total up numbers, count the number of rows in each grouping or display other calculations such as averages.
If you select one or more date fields, e.g. 'date modified - year' and 'date modified - month', a time-series chart will be created which you can zoom in and out of. Otherwise agileBase will select the best chart type to display the data, e.g. bar or pie.
Save a chart and it will become a permanent part of the report, always visible in the summary tab.
You can also add 'word clouds' on the same screen, which are a really quick way of getting a handle on textual data. You can add a word cloud for an individual text field or for all text fields in the report taken together.
This is a word cloud for a complaints management system. You can click on words to drill down into the actual data.
