Thunderbird Setup
From GTwM
To set up an account using Thunderbird, follow these steps
- Run Thunderbird
- Click the Tools menu and select Account Settings...
- Click the Add Account button
- Follow the wizard. You'll need the following information:
- Type of incoming server: POP (use IMAP only if you've purchased an imap account. If unsure, use POP)
- Incoming server: gtwm.co.uk
- Outgoing Server Name (if it asks you): gtwm.co.uk
- Set secure sending:
- Under 'Tools' -> 'Accounts', click Outgoing Server (SMTP)
- Click the Edit button
- Change the port to 26
- Tick 'username and password' and enter your username
- Select the secure connection option 'TLS'
- Set secure receiving:
- Under 'Tools' -> 'Accounts', click Server Settings
- In 'Security Settings', select the TLS option
- Don't tick 'Use secure authentication'
- Under 'Tools' -> 'Accounts', click Server Settings
